Port Moody Panthers alumnus Carson Latimer is attending the Minnesota Wild development camp from July 7 – 9 at TRIA Rink in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Latimer, who lead all PJHL rookies in scoring with a goal and 11 assists in eight games for the Panthers during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season, played in the Western Hockey League in 2022-23, splitting his time between the Prince Albert Raiders and Winnipeg ICE. The Surrey, B.C. native finished the year with 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points in 53 games. He added four goals and two assists in 14 WHL playoff games.
He earned the WHL Central Division Rookie of the Year award in 2020-21 after posting five goals and 11 assists in 22 games for the Edmonton Oil Kings. In 143 career WHL games, Latimer, 20, has 38 goals and 59 assists for 97 points with Edmonton, Prince Albert, and Winnipeg.
Latimer is the first player selected in the NHL Draft after being an actively rostered player in the Pacific Junior Hockey League that same season. He was drafted 123rd overall in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators.
